Jurassic Junction is a dinosaur-themed rest stop in State of Decay and only home site in State of Decay 2: Heartland. It has a "Bronto gas" gas station, a Mini mart, a "T-Rexpresso" coffee stand, a public restroom and a dinosaur statue that acts as a Survey Point.

State of Decay[]

State of Decay 2: Heartland[]

Malik Wilson and his former group set up base in the dinosaur-themed rest stop and worked hard to build their home up, and did well until a horde rolled in and killed everyone except for Malik, who managed to flee. Eventually, two survivors enter the valley (Quincy Maxwell and Helena Cruz or Larisse Davis and Fiona "Aunt Fi" Davis) and with their help, he managed to put down his reanimated friends and take his home back. From there, Jurassic Junction is the permanent home for the main characters.

State of Decay 2: Homecoming[]

In the Homecoming expansion, Jurassic Junction is completely abandoned and partially destroyed, with a gas tanker having crashed near the northern part of the rest stop, cars left in disrepair, and equipment left unattended. The fates of most of the previous residents is unknown, but Malik, who was the sole survivor of his previous group, was confirmed to be dead after a tanker explosion as his grave can be found at the Pterodactyl Ptark base, just west from the rest stop.

Trivia[]

  • The URL shown on the coffee stand http://www.trexpresso.com/ leads to a fake web page that advertises the coffee stand. There is also a store at http://www.cafepress.com/trexpresso, where you can purchase t-rexpresso merchandise, like t-shirts and mugs.
  • The place is identified as a "Potential home site"; it is one of the locations the RV can breakdown when the player reaches a new level in the DLC "Breakdown".
  • In Heartland, the T-rex statue has a garden gnome in the right corner of its maw. It is likely a reference to the zombie shooter video-game Left 4 Dead 2 who features a similar-looking garden gnome named "Gnome Chompski" that the survivors must drag along to the ending of the campaign to earn a special achievement.
